The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall across various districts of Telangana from Sunday to Wednesday, issuing a yellow alert for several areas due to the expected weather conditions.
According to Dr. K. Nagarathna, Chief Officer of the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, the state is likely to experience scattered to widespread rainfall during this period. The yellow alert specifically covers districts such as Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Nagarkurnool.
These districts are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour on Sunday and Monday. The IMD has advised caution for residents in these regions.
Further, the forecast indicates a possibility of isolated heavy rainfall on May 5th in Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanumakonda districts, and on May 6th in Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba districts. Other parts of the state are also likely to receive rainfall during these days.
In the Greater Hyderabad region, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Maximum temperatures are predicted to hover around 40 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures around 28 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, while the overall intensity of heat decreased, many districts recorded daytime temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, with Nizamabad registering the highest at 44.0 degrees Celsius.
